I still have a few more things to add. The banner at the bottom that says "Street" and some highlights.

My favorite Fighter Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell retired today. He is now the new UFC executive vice president of business development. He has helped a lot with the growth of MMA and he will be missed. At 41-years-old he retires with a 21-8 record and had four consecutive title defenses at Light Heavy Weight.

Decipher layers
I have been trying to draw my own text, fonts, or lettering whatever you would like to call it. The hard part about that is getting everything to line up and be the correct size. Then I changed the layout a little bit so that moves stuff around. Here is a screen capture of my layout process. Grids, lines, and a mess that my mind can somehow decipher.

Fast Five
So I love action movies and cars. So in 2001 they made one of my favorite movies of all time. The Fast and the Furious. Well April 29 2011 they are coming out with the Fast Five! (Here is a link to the trailer.) If the name of the movie didn't give it away this will be the fifth The Fast and the Furious movie. My two favorite thing about these movies is the cars and all the awesome quotes they give you. "I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free." or "Bullshit asshole, no one likes the tuna here!" Now the Dwayne Johnson AKA the ROCK is in it. This movie will be great. Here is my first of a few sketches.
I need to practice more on my portraits. Definitely need to loosen up and draw with my arm not my wrist.

UFC 124 Sketch
A quick sketch of George "Rush" St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck. Still needs a lot of work. This is a 15 minute ruff. I might try to use the pen brush and then water color it.

Gold Mastering at work all day sucks. Since it is so nice out I went to the park to draw. No one was at the park today. So that was nice too. Now I am back at work, and its time to Gold Master some more. Friday afternoon count down begins.

Southern Belle Bakery - Truck Design
I did a ruff layout for a food truck. I got the template from here.
BBQ w/ Johnny
Here is a sketch from when Johnny and I were grilling up some tasty food while Johnny was jamming to some Slightly Stoopid. In our little neighborhood we have a thing we call Sunday Funday. Everyone comes over and we BBQ, drink a few beers, and play a little cornhole (follow the link if you don't know what cornhole is) . Since it's football season now so we watch football inside, because it is a little to cold to sit outside.

Miles Robot
My family was in town this weekend. Saturday night I spent doodling with my cousins Miles and Mia and my niece Dani. Mia and Dani like to color and Miles loves to draw. He drew aliens, pirates, ninjas, robots, and more. Here is a picture of Miles and the robot he drew me. He even signed and titled it Miles Silly Robot.

Mock Website
So I was asked to mock up a website real quick this took about an hour or so. Building websites is one of my least favorite things to do. Designing them is fun but, making them work not so much. This is for that bakery project again so sorry for the copyright stuff.

Reed at the Gym!
This is what it is like for me 4 to 5 nights a week when I go to the gym with Reed. I know that I am not buff, but since I made Reed so buff why can't I add a little more muscle to myself. This was a rough sketch I made one Friday night and everyone laughed at it so much I decided to color it in using a little water color paint.

Christmas Card - My Process
Here is my process I used for making a Christmas card.
I only had 3 days to make this card so my process was a little rushed.
Part 1: Rough sketch.
Normally I make 3 or 4, but for time sake I only did 1.
Part 2: Outline
I outlined my rough in Illustrator. (Just a side note) Since they print the cards I made sure color mode was CMYK learned the hard way last year.
Part 3: New Stroke
The lines looked a little boring to me so I created my own brush and applied a new stroke to them to give them a little weight and more character.
Part 4: Import to Photoshop
Then I took my outline and imported it into Photoshop and made sure all my lines were black. Since I am going to be coloring and doing all the layout in Photoshop this helps speed up the process. (Make sure color mode is CMYK)
Part 5: Ruff color
During my rough sketch I marked up the character with what colors I wanted to use so all I had to do was paint bucket in the color to each section.
Part 6: Shading the character
To add a little depth and weight to the character I went in and shaded him up.
Part 7: Background
Since I didn't have time to illustrate a nice background I took a nice flat blue and added some snowflakes using a snowflake brush. I used 3 different colors to give it a little depth.
Part 8: Final touches
Then I added "Happy Holidays" and the company name with their logos in a Christmas style font. Then created a snowflake and a white blur for the boarder.

Peacock Shoes
Friday night I painted up some shoes. First I did a rough outline with a white charcoal pencil. Then I painted them with a black paint. Here is a picture I took of them before I cleaned them up so you can still see the charcoal and some lint on them. I will put a picture of them cleaned up later this week.

Sink into the Pacific "J"
The Letter "J"
J is for Janet...
Our eyes met across the room. No, it was across the bar. You had the loneliest tv blue eyes I had ever seen. Actually, they were the saddest brown eyes. You tossed your head to move your hair from those eyes, or maybe I brushed your hair behind your ear when I leaned in to kiss you. These details seem to get jumbled up, mismatched and confused from the event to my brain to the page. One night we fucked, or slow danced, or made love, or maybe we drove towards the ocean, debating on stopping as that cliff got closer. Was it worth it, the brakes? My mind says yes, my heart, well, it is still thinking about all the other things. Opening the front door to you and angelic rays from heaven, or was it you normal with friends and acquaintances that I would never see again. The trials by fire, the gauntlets of arrows, or the explanation of intentions in dark rooms, crowded rooms, empty streets or busy beds. Maybe my heart is wrapped up with conversations from time zones away, counties with shared borders, or that one really rough night when I escaped to the driveway and locked my self away outside so I could figure out where you stood, where I stand and where I fall.
It is now about twelve years ago. I am spending time in a jacuzzi watching movies in black and white. Then I am swimming in the longest slimmest pool of my life. I am kissing girls, my pants are wet, my hair is a mess, and I have absolutely no way of showing or explaining any of this to you. I stop thinking about all those friends I lost. Back to you, Janet.
There is a bar in Santa Barbara. There is a dance club in Tijuana. There is bowling alley in Chicago. There is a house in Oregon. There is a bed in Texas. There is a lake in Oklahoma. There is street in Gainesville. There is a cul-de-sac in Seattle. There is an ocean that is not the Pacific. All of these are you even when they are not, baby steps in the creation of an adult, a human, a piece of shit who secretly functions as the one with the deepest valleys of a heart until they are filled with all the things that have gone into them these last few years.
I'll take my chances with beds and dreams. My heart, head, and mouth are conspiring to honesty. It feels as close to perfect as I can remember.
I'll see you tomorrow, if only for a second...
